Natural gas slump idles rigs, workers

Home (CBC News) - It may seem strange at a time of record high oil prices, but thousands of rig workers are off the job in Western Canada as the drilling industry deals with a big slump in natural gas exploration activity.

The slump in exploration has been caused by natural gas prices that are nowhere near record levels and haven't been for more than a year. Drilling is down significantly across Alberta and British Columbia.
